TESTIMONIALS

"My goal, working out with Dillon, wasn’t about losing weight but to get healthy. Both my of parents and their families have a history of heart disease and working out and eating well is the best defense against it. Working with Dillon has given me the support and motivation to keep going. While I know I am accountable for my own health; Dillon makes my workouts more challenging and definitely more fun. The workouts are more effective too. I know if I keep it up I will live a longer and healthier life."

"I have to say that you two (Andy and Dillon) have both helped me get back into fitness! I was at Lake Powell and I was able to do a 40 minute run at 4000 feet elevation - something I would never have been able to do 8 months ago. I also noticed how many of the women who came on the trip were unable to pull themselves out of the water and back into the boat - again, something I did with ease. I am also now able to lift things in the yard and move things like I used to when I was in my early 20s - during my rowing days."

"When I moved here a year ago, one of the first things I wanted to find in this city is a personal trainer, a good personal trainer. Exercise helps me feel grounded, it gives me a nice routine/structure to follow and feels good (mostly when it's done). By some grace of good luck, I found Sara Sutherland in my search. Having worked with only one other trainer for 3 years previous to Sara I was a bit apprehensive of a new person tailoring my workouts and figured she might be the first of many for me to interview for this very important role in my life. She listened to what I wanted from my workouts and was/is very in tune with what I can handle. She won the job right off the bat. Turns out Sara is also a fun person to be around, so if you're not the biggest fan of exercise, why not spend that time with someone that you enjoy talking with?"

My mission is to inspire, motivate and support the health, fitness and well being of my clients. My approach to personal training incorporates a balance of traditional strength training and innovative balance and agility training with cardiovascular work and education about fitness.   It’s equally important to have a good time and find balance in your daily schedule. I provide my clients with individualized programs developed to meet their goals in a timely, fun and safe manner. I also offer classes throughout the year to keep your workouts ‘fresh’.  Spring brings a weekly running group – great for race training, a good way to start running or an overall boost to a tired running routine. I’ve had people of all ages and sizes in my running class, and it’s been a pleasure to see them progress over the season and come back year after year.  My weekly woman’s strength training classes are not only a wonderful way to get fit, they provide entertainment while doing so and are and affordable way to benefit from a personal trainer.  I consider my specialties to be beginning/intermediate strength training, running, swimming and triathlon.  I am a well-rounded trainer, able to incorporate varied work out plans so you can stay on target and enjoy being fit.

As someone who did not become an athlete until adulthood, I train others in hopes that fitness will bring them the same pride and confidence it has brought me. My passion for training others is a direct result of the training I have endured myself. I am constantly setting new goals for myself, whether improving my half marathon time, completing a marathon or placing in my age group in a triathlon. In meeting these goals I have empowered myself in ways I never thought possible. I want to help all my clients do the same. My greatest joy comes from seeing my clients realize their own potential: running a 5K or a marathon, climbing stairs without pain or climbing Mount Rainier, doing one push up or 10 pull ups.

I've been a CPT since January of 2006 and loved every minute of it. My worst day being a Personal Trainer STILL outshines my BEST DAY doing anything else, and there's one reason for that... my clients. I work with some of the toughest people out there. From long distance hikers to cancer survivors, to people who just want to get into better shape.

There is a way to have fun through the "growing pains" of getting into shape. And finding that one exercise that becomes the touchstone or turning point for people is one of my favorite things. Weight loss shouldn't ALWAYS be the answer key for judging success. My focus is always first going to be functionality and strength endurance, then I'll move on to body shaping. This progressions not only delivers faster results, but provides a better foundation from which to grow on.

My goal is to impact my clients life so much that he or she feels radically changed. I simply believe in internal and external strength and that both are the outcome of a full rounded program. My drive and motivation comes from the many people I have met and will meet that haven given me the chance to make a huge impact in their lives. I heard a motto a long time ago that stated, "you will never have to go to work again when you find something you love to do". I hold on to this motto very tight because that is what being a personal trainer is to me. There is not one day that I feel like I am working. I am getting people to their goals, helping people get back their self-respect and self-esteem that has been missing so long. I thoroughly enjoy meeting new people and having them quickly become friends.

I have a sports and military background. I played varsity football and baseball in high school and served 3 years in United States Navy. It was the military that hatched my fitness birth. Shortly I started running 2 mile then 3 miles then 6 miles, etc. Then I started training for my first triathlon (sprint) in the summer of 2005 which later developed into participating in the STP (Seattle to Portland, 204 miles) ride in 1 day on my "fix gear" (1 gear) bike. Now I am registered for my 1st Ironman (swim-2.4mi, ride-115mi, and run- 26.2mi) in Louisville, Kentucky, August 30th, 2009.

The programs I design are specifically designed for each of my clients. I will always begin with nutrition because without a proper game plan on caloric intake goals may not be achieved or just simply delayed. Each session is an education opportunity, allowing myself to teach and mold each and everyone of my clients into the athlete they have deep inside.
